Re: [FJ55] V8 questions

LOL now we know where Evan gets it from. Around here with the FJ40s, almost
everyone uses Rams horns style manifolds, tight and they hug the block. I
couldn't see any reason these wouldn't work for a pig. On the external
slave, if you use the SM465 bellhousing (I don't see any reason to not), AA
makes a bracket or you can fab your own. Then use an OEM Land Cruiser
slave. Strangely LC slaves are AA's go-to for a bunch of their custom
bellhousing swaps because they are so easy to use. Of course they are
perfectly balanced to your OEM clutch master. Either use the AA style
centerforce (some like, some don't) or maybne have Georg Esterer look up the
right clutch part number for a CAR (ie muscle car, whatever) model Chevy 350
(or whatever the size is) part number, not a truck because anything with a
SM465 in a Chevy truck had a huge clutch throw. I went through all of this
with my Cummins that uses a SM465 bellhousing and the expensive Cummins part
number clutch turned out to be a 454 clutch. That needs tons of throw to
even get it activated. So I use a Wilwood brake master as my clutch
master... ..and it blows, too stiff and still not enough juice......
